EC Pants - Where to get them?

EC Pants Directory

I’ve put this together as a helpful resource for when you want to transition out of diapers or nappies.

EC Pants are just a lot easier, I have found. Especially once you get into the swing of EC and mainly have pee misses, using training pants are sooooo much easier to pull down and offer a potty break than having to lay baby down, remove nappy / diaper, do potty-op, re-apply nappy…

I’ve got OneWet Pants, Bongo Baby Pants and EcaPants. I love them all. Only using the EcaPants at the moment as Jett is in a Dobbs Brace for correction of his clubfoot 23 hours a day. The EcaPants are great as the belt unsnaps around his waist, and it is easy to open the pant on the way to the loo, and actually avoid having to lay him down at all!

Note about the quality:  Sorry for the intermittent blips!  We have figured out how to improve this since this interview was recorded, so there is one more interview with less-than-great quality, and then they will be much much better.  I believe the content of these interviews more than makes up for the quality issues.

Letting go of Expectations

Isabela is a little over 20 months now.  She is very consistent with telling me that she needs to use the potty when it come to poops.  She’s also starting to tell me more often for pees as well, which is great!  We are having more and more dry days, and most nights are dry as well.  As I think back to the last several months I can see how we are having more and more EC success.  Still, I tend to think of this as a linear process and therefore expect her to be consistently dry at this point, since we have had so many more periods of dry times, sometimes several days in a row.  Thanks to the big EC list and what I’ve read in Laurie Boucke’s book “Infant Potty Basics,” I can remind myself to not go into perfectionistic mode.  I try to remember that it’s best not to make any sort of projections regarding when we will be “finished” with EC.  When I am tempted to get impatient with the process, I instead think of how few poopy diapers we’ve had to deal with over the span of Isabela’s life.  I know that in practicing EC we’ve reduced our impact on the environment because of so many fewer diapers used.  Focusing on the journey, rather than the destination, brings me back to the present and keeps me grateful for where we are in this process.
