It’s great to EC. I think I love it so much because misses are not messes. So, catches are fun, really fun, and empowering, and sometimes (especially with a boy) silly.
Today we were driving around neighborhoods looking at houses to get ideas for a house my parents are working on - looking for carport ideas. We had already run errands and were waiting on cousins to go to the zoo and were staying in the car because Henry was having a great nap. And then he woke. With the classic (for me anyway - both my kids did this) wake-pee-needing-wail. A single wail, then eyes are open and slight whimpering threatens.
“Dad, pull over.” I unbuckle Henry, Delia unbuckles herself and we gather at the sliding door of the minivan, Henry pointed out and we wait. Several seconds later, he pees. And pees some more, and some more, and some more. A sizable puddle on the curb makes me smile.
We set off for Minnesota (home) tomorrow. Er, today. Leave for the airport in about 6 hours. Haven’t packed yet. I have a four year old sleeping on my back and a nakeybutt 8 month old nuzzled against my side so it’s not my fault - when one of them moves, I’ll get up. I know each moment is precious. There will be time to pack well later in life.
